Here is our little backyard. Last year Mike put in this planter box so I could have fun gardening. After that Mike wanted to get rid of the rock and put in something nicer to walk on. I told him that he could IF he could find something on Craigs list for FREE and he did! He got various sandstone and slate and spent a long time designing how it would all fit together. Plans kept changing, and we had a few setbacks - not having enough slate of the same color, not enough time, running out of mortar - more than once, working at night, taking care of Ellie while covered in cement, etc. It was a VERY LONG PROCESS taking up 3 Saturdays of mixing concrete with mortar and water, but it is ALMOST done. We just have a few odd corners to finish. Mike also put in pipes everywhere a timer. Also a special thanks goes to Ridge - we appreciate your big muscles , Jeremy - thanks for your ideas and tools, and Mike's dad, Ed - your great cement pouring and smoothing skills. You never planned on getting so involved, but we REALLY appreciate your help! AND of course my hot husband, thank you for all your hard work! I love you!
I also made 2 of these little rag quilts. I decided that Ellie needed a blanket from her mama. Jessie showed me how to do it and gave me ideas. It took FOREVER (ok just 3 days during Ellie's nap time. I don't think I'm used to stopping in the middle of projects yet to take care of my sweet babe). I think Ellie likes it!

Looks great! I love craigslist too. And, fun fabric on the blanket. Is that Ellie's way of signing "I love you" to me? I knew it! I'm the fav Auntie!!
It is funny how she always sucks on her fingers like that.
Backyard looks super cool. When will it be too hot to even go back there? The picture of Mike's dad, I thought was mike at first and thought the whole project made him loose his hair.

The backyard looks awesome!! It is amazing how kids lengthen out projects. :) Have fun gardening, us Webb's just can't get rid of our green thumbs, and the quilt is super cute!

This year we have 1 tomato plant, 1 bell pepper, and 2 strawberry. Last year we had 4 tomato - but I was in my 1st and 2nd trimester when they were ripe and tomatoes sounded very yucky to eat. We also had yellow squash and they would start to grow, but then shrivel up. Apparently you have to pollenate each one by hand. No thanks.

It only took you THREE days to do your rag quilts!? I'm so jealous. The one I made for Jolie took forever (and I'm not talking three days forever...). It was fun, but a ton of work. So, good for you! Sorry I haven't been better about checking up on you! I use google reader and realized you weren't on it yet!! So glad to get back to reading about your family! Oh, and your back"yard" looks awesome.
